The Sydney 500 exhibition is happening at The World Bar in Kings Cross, Sydney on the 5th of May, 2010
The idea of the Sydney 500 is to capture the city and its people through the scratched plastic lenses and
antique apertures of cheap, discarded, second hand cameras.
Started by a few photography enthusiasts, old cameras, costing no more than five dollars, were collected,
loaded with black and white film, and handed out to strangers and friends.
The images captured tell an honest, if imperfect, story of today’s city life creating an intriguing
and fun photographic essay.
We think its rad that in the pursuit of 500 interesting pictures we're also meeting and bringing
together interesting people.
At Sydney500's debut exhibition we'll be displaying the work of our 10 vintage photography enthusiasts from around Sydney
- a selection of photos from the full set of 500, each taken through
one of our 5 dollar, second hand, discarded analogue cameras will be on display.
Everyone is welcome!
The Sydney 500.
